Cinema Falls Presents Marley
The Definitive Bob Marley Documentary

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (March 29, 2012) – Cinema Falls will be exhibiting the documentary Marley at the Washington Pavilion Belbas Theater at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 14.

Marley, the definitive Bob Marley documentary directed by Oscar® winner Kevin Macdonald, is about the music, life and legacy of Bob Marley. The film features Bob Marley, Rita Marley, Ziggy Marley and Bunny Wailer as well as rare footage, exclusive interviews and previously unreleased music. The film was made with the blessing of both the Marley family and record label.

“Cinema Falls is pleased to share this film prior to its national art house release,” Julie Anderson Friesen, founder and artistic director of Cinema Falls said. “When a film opens in limited release, it’s simply not coming to South Dakota. Area fans of Bob Marley deserve this film, and this film deserves the big screen, if only for one night.”

Marley premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival in February and had its U.S. premiere at SXSW in March. Its limited, national art house release is set for April 20. Marley is rated PG-13 with a running time a little over two hours.

In addition to the documentary, Cinema Falls will be announcing a charitable activity in partnership with its film sponsor Starmark Cabinetry.

“Cine-zens will be encouraged to participate in the spirit of this film through an act of giving that will be announced soon,” Friesen said. “Our sponsor wants to act on the issues of hunger and poverty that were important to Bob Marley. We will announce that next week.”

Tickets to Marley are on sale now for $15 online, in person or over the phone at the Washington Pavilion box office, 605.367.6000. Concessions, beer and wine will be on sale in the Cinema Lounge in the Belbas Lobby prior to the film, and are allowed into the theater.
