Late submissions still being accepted for South Dakota Film Festival
|
ABERDEEN, S.D. - The South Dakota Film Festival has reached its official deadline for film submissions. At this time all filmmakers who would like their film(s) considered for inclusion to the first annual South Dakota Film Festival will be subject to the “late submission” terms of the official rules.
“The possibility that we would receive and accept late submissions has always been a contingency that we planned for,” said festival co-producer, Nicholas Pharris. “We’re willing to work with filmmakers interested in the South Dakota Film Festival within our rules, but once the docket is full and the “Official Selections” have been announced any submissions received will be subject to our rolling deadline and will only be considered for next season.”
The South Dakota Film Festival is interested in films that fit the following categories: narrative, documentary and animation. The categories can be short or feature length films.
“We’re excited to see a wide array of films entered in this inaugural event,” said Lesa Jarding, film and media representative, South Dakota Office of Tourism. “The South Dakota Film Festival will be an excellent opportunity for filmmakers to showcase their incredible work.”
All films selected from the eligible submissions will be screened to the public during the festival’s three day event which will run concurrently aside a vendor expo that will educate and enlighten the public on various aspects of the film industry. The South Dakota Film Festival will culminate in an awards ceremony and after-glow party.
