Imprint, a locally produced supernatural thriller, is premiering at Carmike 10 in Rapid City on September 14.

RAPID CITY, S. D. - Imprint, a locally produced supernatural thriller shot at the 777 Ranch and on Pine Ridge Reservation, is premiering at Carmike 10 in Rapid City on September 14. A premier is also planned for Pine Ridge Reservation for September 15. Lead actress Tonantzin Carmelo (Into the West), as well as other stars from the film, will be in attendance at both premiers.
Local production company Linn Productions, along with a smart and talented cast, weave Native mythologies into this Sixth Sense-style supernatural thriller.
Executive Producer Carolyn Linn is working with Carmike Theatres to release the movie regionally. Carmike has digital capabilities in many of its theatres nationwide, including at three locations in South Dakota, making it less expensive for independent filmmakers to release their work because 35mm prints aren’t needed. Following the Rapid City premier, releases are planned on 17 screens in North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Nebraska, and Colorado.
Tonanztin Carmelo (Into the West) stars as Native American attorney Shayla Stonefeather, who prosecutes a Lakota teen in a controversial murder trial. When she returns home after the trial, strange visions and ghostly voices propel her on an unexpected journey. Though Shayla initially rejects a spiritual explanation for her experiences, she begins to uncover what she believes is a link between the visions and her brother’s disappearance two years earlier.
Determined to get to the bottom of the mystery, Shayla deliberately confronts and follows the apparitions, leading her to a horrifying revelation and a purpose she could never have foreseen.
Michael Linn and Keith Davenport wrote the screenplay, Michael Linn directed, Marc Linn assistant directed, and Chris Eyre and Linn Productions produced the movie. Tonantzin Carmelo (Into the West), Carla-Rae Holland, Michael Spears (Into the West), and Cory Brusseau star in the movie.
