South Dakota Film Wins Best Picture at Major San Francisco Film Festival (posted Nov 16, 2007)
Imprint took the top award at the American Indian Motion Picture Awards Show in San Francisco last Saturday night.

RAPID CITY, S.D. - Imprint, the supernatural thriller produced in western South Dakota by Linn Productions and Chris Eyre, took the top award at the American Indian Motion Picture Awards Show in San Francisco last Saturday night.

Also competing for Best Picture were Luna: Spirit of the Whale, starring Adam Beach from Law and Order SVU, and award-winning Sundance film Four Sheets to the Wind.

Imprint’s lead actress, Tonantzin Carmelo, took Best Actress for her performance in the movie, and Carla-Rae Holland, also from Imprint, won the award for Best Supporting Actress.

The American Indian Motion Picture Awards Show has recognized excellence in American Indian cinematic achievement since 1978, making the annual awards show one of the most prominent Indian Country and Native Cinema showcases.

A jury panel designated by the American Indian Film Institute (AIFI) screened and judged the 144 films that competed for the awards.
